Analysis Tool Buttons
In both the Weibull and ALT modules, the panes in which you enter parameter values display tool buttons on the right side of their title bars. The buttons available in a pane’s title bar depend on the type of analysis that can be performed.
Weibull Tool Buttons
The following table describes the capabilities provided by these buttons.
Button
Description
When clicked, the active data set is calculated and results are shown in the View Calculation Results window. For a Weibull life data set or ALT data set, Auto-Calculate data sets checkboxes in the System file properties control whether calculations run as you enter data and parameter values. For more information, see Data Set Calculations.
When clicked, the Plot pane is made active. For more information about Weibull plots, see Weibull Plots. For more information about ALT plots, see ALT Plots.
When clicked, the Summary Calculator opens. For more information, see Summary Calculator.
For the Weibull module, this button is available for all but non-parametric life and degradation data sets.
For the ALT module, this button is available only for ALT life data sets.
When clicked, a window opens for performing best fit analysis of either distributions or degradation models, depending on the active data set.
For the Weibull module, you can perform best fit distribution analysis on a parametric life data set and degradation model analysis on a degradation data set.
For the ALT module, you can perform best fit distribution analysis on an ALT life data set and degradation model analysis on an accelerated degradation data set.
For a life data set, the Best Fit Distribution window opens. For more information, see Best Fit Distribution Analysis.
For a degradation data set, the Best Fit Degradation Model window opens. For more information, see Best Fit Degradation Model Analysis.
