RBD Panes
The RBD module provides three panes for building and analyzing block diagrams of system designs. The following table describes these panes. All but the RBD Diagram pane are shown in the upper or left window, depending on the System file orientation. To switch between the horizontal and vertical orientations, you can select View > Split Windows Vertically.
Pane
Description
RBD Table
Displays a table listing all block and phase diagrams inserted in the System file. For more information, see RBD Table Pane.
RBD Blocks
Displays the blocks in either the active diagram or all diagrams, depending on whether the Filter by RBD Diagram Selection command is turned on or off. For more information, see RBD Blocks Pane.
RBD Diagram
Displays the diagram selected in the RBD Table.
To build a block diagram, you insert blocks, connectors, and junctions in the RBD Diagram pane. For more information, see RBD Diagram Pane.
To build a phase diagram, you insert and define each mission phase and then link each of these phases to a block diagram depicting system operation in this phase. For more information, see Phase Diagrams.
You can import block diagram data into and export it from the System file. The Import Template file selected for importing can only update blocks. If it attempts to add blocks, an error message indicates that this file type does not support adding blocks. For more information, see Importing and Exporting.
