Inserting Selected Objects in a System File Block Diagram into an RBD Diagram Library File
In the System file, when multiple blocks are selected in the RBD Diagram pane, you can use the Insert Selection into Library command to insert the selected blocks into the RBD Diagram Library file. The selected objects copied into this diagram may or may not be connected together, and they may or may not be connected to the start and end nodes for the diagram. Using this insertion method is the same as copying objects in a block diagram in one file and then pasting these objects into a block diagram in a different file.
1. In the RBD Table, select the block diagram.
2. In the diagram, select the blocks to insert in a diagram in the RBD Diagram Library file.
3. Select RBD > Insert Selection into Library. Because multiple blocks are selected, the Multiple Blocks Selected window opens.
4. Select the option for inserting selected blocks as a new diagram in the RBD Diagram Library file and click OK.
The Paste in Progress window opens, indicated the selected blocks are being inserted into the RBD Diagram Library file as new diagrams.
If no RBD Diagram Library file is enabled in the Project, one is created one and then the diagram is inserted into it.
If one RBD Diagram Library file is enabled, the diagram is inserted into this file.
If multiple RBD Diagram Library files are enabled, the diagram is inserted into the first one in the search order for which you have write permissions. For information about setting the search order, see Setting the Search Order for System and Library Files.
When selected blocks are inserted as a new Library diagram, this diagram is assigned an identifier. Because only a portion of the original System file diagram is inserted as a new library diagram, the description assigned to the System file diagram is not copied. For information about what happens if data links, diagram links, or repeated blocks are present, see Handling of Links and Repeated Blocks for Diagram Library Files.
You can open the RBD Diagram Library file and use the windows in it in basically the same manner as you use the RBD windows in the System file. Differences between the windows in this RBD support file and the System file are noted in RBD Diagram Library File Overview.

When multiple RBD Diagram Library files are enabled, to insert selected blocks into a file other than the first one in the search order, you can copy the blocks in the RBD Blocks table in the System file and then paste them into the RBD Blocks table in the desired RBD Diagram Library file.
