Inserting a Library Block into an Existing RBD Block Diagram
You can use the Library Browse window to insert any block that is stored in an RBD Block Library file into a block diagram in the System file. Performing the following procedure is the same as copying a single block from one diagram and pasting it into another diagram.
1. In the System file, do the following:
a. In the RBD Table, select the diagram.
b. Click in the diagram.
2. Select RBD > Browse Libraries. The auto-hide Library Browse window opens in the pinned mode. For more information, see Library Browse Window.
3. In its Search window, do the following:
a. For Search for, select RBD Blocks.
b. Supply the search criteria to use. For more information, see RBD Blocks Search Criteria.
If you do not enter any search criteria, when you initiate the search, all blocks in enabled RBD Blocks Library files are retrieved and shown in the Results window.
c. To initiate the search, click Search or press Enter.
Search Button
Enabled RBD Blocks Library files are searched or blocks matches. Search results are shown in the Results window.
4. In the Results window, do the following:
a. Locate the block to insert into the RBD Diagram pane in the System file and select its record.
b. Click Insert.
The copy-and-paste procedure is performed. The Library Browse window remains open in case you want to insert additional blocks. In the System file, the selected block is pasted in the upper right corner of the RBD Diagram pane. It is assigned the next unique identifier specified for RBD Block Identifier in the System file properties.
5. When you are finished inserting blocks into the System file, close the Library Browse window.
Once a block is inserted in your System file, you may need to modify it to better reflect the operation of the component within your system. For more information, see Block Diagram How-Tos.
