Connection points
The properties under this heading specify properties for the points at which connectors enter and exit a block.

Shape
|
The shape to use for connections points. Choices are: Triangle, Square, and Circle. The default is Triangle.
|
Size
|
The size of the connection points in pixels. The default is 20.
|
Fill with color
|
When selected, connection points are filled with the color specified on the Color page. For more information, see Color Page.
|
Hide
|
Indicates whether connection points are shown in the software and printed on the diagram. When this checkbox is cleared (default), they are shown and are printed. When it is selected, they are not shown and are not printed. You cannot hide the connection points for already connected blocks. Also, you cannot insert connectors to or from blocks with hidden connection points.

Input side
|
The side of the block on which input connection points are to appear. Choices are Top, Bottom, Left, or Right. The default is Left.

Output side
|
The side of the block on which output connection points are to appear. Choices are: Top, Bottom, Left, or Right. The default is Right.

Image
The properties under this heading specify properties for using an image for the block.

Image file
|
Provides for selecting an image file to use for the block. When one of the supplied symbols is in use, (None) is shown. You can click this field’s browse button to open the Open window, which you can use to navigate to and select an image file. Supported choices for file types are:
• Bitmap Files (*.bmp, *.dib)
• Exif Files (*.exif)
• GIF Files (*.gif)
• JPEG Files (*.jpg)
• PNG Files (*.png)
• TIFF Files (*.tif)
• Windows Metafiles (*.wmf, *.emf)

Embed image
|
Indicates whether to embed the selected image file. This checkbox is available only when a file is selected for Image file. If this checkbox is cleared (default), the file is linked. When it is selected, the file is embedded.

When clicked, the Select Figure Symbol window opens so that you can select a different symbol for the block. For more information, see Select Symbol window.
