Part number searching is turned on when Encoded Part Number Search (default) or Exact Part Number Search is selected for Parts Library Search > Search method in the Options window. When part number searching is turned on, the following checkboxes under the same heading indicate the libraries to search : Windchill Risk and Reliability libraries, Resistor/Capacitor commercial decoding, Resistor/Capacitor military decoding, and User libraries. The searching of enabled libraries occurs in the following order:

Enabled Prediction Parts Library and Correlation Library files are searched in the order specified for these file types in the Project properties. As described in File Heading Properties, when Prediction Parts Library or Prediction Correlation Library is selected in the Project Properties window, the File Search Order pane is shown. In this pane, you specify the search order for files of this type in the Project as well as those enabled in the Common Library.

If the checkbox for searching a particular library is cleared, files of that type are not searched. For example, if User libraries is cleared, enabled Parts Library and Correlation Library files. are not searched.
