Prediction Values Library File Overview
Prediction Values Library files store custom environments and quality levels that you can use when the standard environment and quality level choices for a calculation model do not meet your needs. Multiple occurrences of this file type can exist in a Project. You can also create or move Prediction Values Library files in the Common Library. Enabled Prediction Values Library files are searched in the order specified in the Project properties. For more information, see Setting the Search Order for System and Library Files.
The Prediction Values Library file has two panes in which you insert custom environments and quality levels and specify the Pi factor values to use for calculation models and part types. You can create as many custom environments or quality levels as you want and indicate whether they are to show up for all models, all issues of a particular model (such as MIL-HDBK-217), or for only one specific issue of a model (such as MIL-HDBK 217 FN2). For custom quality levels, you can also define different Pi Q values for different part category/subcategory combinations.
The following table describes the two panes in the Prediction Values Library file:
Pane
Description
Prediction Values Definition
Displays the custom environments and quality levels inserted in the Prediction Values Library file. For more information, see Prediction Values Definition Pane.
Prediction Values Data
Displays a hierarchical tree structure for each record that has been inserted. For each record, the Pi factor value (Pi E or Pi Q) to use for that model/category/subcategory combination is specified. For more information, see Prediction Values Data Pane.
