Part Number Search Terms

The following table describes the terms used to describe portions of the part number that the search algorithm removes to search for variations of an entered part number. The variations that are actually searched for depend on Search without checkbox selections under Parts Library Search in the Options window. For more information, see Parts Library Search User Options.

Term	Definition
Prefix	All characters up to but not including the first digit.
Suffix	All characters after the last digit.
Dash Prefix	A dash and all characters that come after it, such as letters, numbers, and other characters.
Dash Suffix	A dash and all characters that come after it, such as letters, numbers, and other characters.
