Inserting a FIDES Mission Profile Phase
For each mission profile in the Prediction FIDES Mission Profile file, you can insert any number of mission profile phases. Phase information includes the number of calendar hours spent in this specific stage as well as operating temperatures and environmental conditions that the system experiences in this stage.
1. If the Prediction FIDES Mission Profile file is not already open, then open it.
2. In the FIDES Mission Profile pane, select the profile for which to insert phases. For profile insertion information, see Inserting a FIDES Mission Profile.
3. For each phase to insert in the FIDES Mission Profile Phases pane, do the following:
a. In the last table row, click < Click here to insert a new record >.
The Add Mission Profile Phase window opens. For more information, see Add Mission Profile Phase Window
b. Complete this window and click OK to insert the phase record.
c. For this phase, complete the FIDES Mission Profile Phases pane. For more information, see FIDES Mission Profile Phases Pane.
While the sum of all times in the Calendar Time (hours) column for a profile’s phases do not have to add up to 8760 hours, a warning icon is shown to the right of Total Time if the sum is not 8760 hours, which is the number of hours in one year.

If you place the mouse cursor over the warning icon, a tooltip appears, indicating that the total is either more or less than 8760.

4. When finished, close the FIDES Mission Profile file.
Because the FIDES Mission Profile file and FIDES Application Factor files are not linked, inserting a mission phase here in the FIDES Mission Profile file does not insert this phase in a FIDES Application Factor file. When you insert mission phases, you want to insert those phases in one or more FIDES Application Factor files and complete the new question sets for these phases.
