Add Variable Window
The Add Variable window provides for inserting an LCC variable in the LCC Variables file. The following table describes the options in this window. For more information, see Inserting an LCC Variable in the Variables Pane.
Option
Description
Variable name
The name to assign the variable. The name must begin with an alphabetic character. It can contain only alphabetic and numeric characters and underscores. The name cannot contain any spaces.
Variable type
Specifies the type of parameters to show in the Variable Data area in the Variables pane. Choices for the variable type are:
Constant. When selected (default), Value is shown. In this field, you enter the variable value to use across all calculations. For more information, see Specifying the Value for a Constant Variable.
Varies over Alternatives. When selected, a two-column table is shown. In it, you enter the value to use for each alternative. For more information, see Specifying Values for a Variable that Varies Over Alternatives.
Varies Over Alternatives & Time Intervals. When selected, a three-column table is shown, In it, you enter the value to use for each interval/alternative combination. For more information, see Specifying Values for a Variable that Varies Over Alternatives and Time Intervals.
Varies over Time Intervals. When selected, a two-column table is shown. In it. you enter the value to use for each time interval in the Variables pane. For more information, see Specify the Values for a Variable that Varies Over Time Intervals.
