Specifying Values for a Variable that Varies Over Alternatives and Time Intervals
As described in Inserting an LCC Variable in the Variables Pane, when Varies Over Alternatives and Time Intervals is selected as the variable type, a three-column table appears in the Variables pane in the LCC Variables file. In this table, you specify the value to use for each possible combination of time intervals and system design alternatives. The number of rows in this table depends on the number of system design alternatives and time intervals that are inserted in the Alternatives pane. For example, if two alternatives (Alternative 1 and Alternative 2) exist and two time intervals (Year 1 and Year 2) exist, four rows are present.

Column
Description
Alternative Name
Displays the alternatives that are inserted in the Alternatives pane. This column is display-only. For more information, see Inserting an Alternative in the Alternatives Pane.
Time Interval
Lists the time intervals that are inserted in the Time Intervals pane for each alternative. This column is display-only. For more information, see Inserting a Time Interval in the Time Intervals Pane.
Value
The value to use for the alternative/time interval combination. You must enter the value to use for this variable for each alternative/time interval shown.
