Steps for Creating and Setting Up an FTA Diagram Library File
The following table provides guidance on the steps you take to create an FTA Diagram Library file. In addition to supplying general instructions and descriptions, this topic references other topics where appropriate. These referenced topics typically describe how to perform the actions indicated.
The actions in the following table are numbered to indicate that they are performed sequentially. To successfully set up and use an FTA Diagram Library file, you must complete these actions in the order in which they are listed.

Create the FTA Diagram Library file.
You create and open an FTA Diagram Library file in the same manner as any other file. Performing the procedure referenced below also creates this file if no occurrences exist.

In the FTA Diagram Library, insert entire fault trees or branches that you want to treat as separate diagrams.
In the FTA Diagram Library file, insert any fault tree or branch that you want to reuse. For more information, see Inserting a System File Fault Tree or Branch into an FTA Diagram Library File.
3.
Specify the order in which to search enabled FTA Diagram Library files.
The order in which to search FTA Diagram Library files is specified in the Search Order pane associated with the heading for this file type in the Project Properties window. For more information, see Setting the Search Order for System and Library Files.
4.
Insert diagrams in enabled FTA Diagram Library files into the System file as needed.
To insert a diagram from an FTA Diagram Library file into the System file, you use the Library Browse window to search for diagram matches. For more information, see Inserting a Library Diagram into a New or Existing Fault Tree.
