FRACAS Lookup Table Files
A FRACAS Lookup Table file stores the data to copy into the FRACAS when the criteria specified for key fields is matched. You can create FRACAS Lookup Table files for the FRACAS Incidents table, FRACAS Maintenance Logs table, and the Problems Table. The FRACAS Lookup Table Setup Wizard guides you through the creation of these library files. For more information, see Creating a FRACAS Lookup Table File.
As you enter data in a FRACAS table, enabled FRACAS Lookup Table files are searched to see if matches are found for the criteria specified in key record. For example, you can create a FRACAS Lookup Table file for the Incidents table that has a user-defined field for the company name as the only key field. You can then set up user-defined fields in the Incidents table to store customer information. Assume that you set up fields for the contact name, email, phone, and address. When the company name that you enter exactly matches a value specified in a key record, the data values specified for the other fields (customer information) are copied into the FRACAS Incidents table. For more information, see FRACAS Lookup Table File Searches
The FRACAS Lookup Table file has two panes in which to enter key field and data field values. The following table describes these two panes.
Pane
Description
FRACAS Lookup Key
Displays a table with the key fields for determining data matches. You can have one to five key fields. For more information, see FRACAS Lookup Key Pane.
FRACAS Lookup [Table Type]
Displays the data values to insert in FRACAS fields when values entered in the System file match the criteria specified for a key record. For more information, see FRACAS Lookup Pane.
*
The name of the pane includes an abbreviated form of the table type for which the FRACAS Lookup Table file was created. For example, if it was created for the FRACAS Incidents table, the name of the pane is FRACAS Lookup Incidents.
Because FRACAS Lookup Table files can be constructed for several types of FRACAS tables, using them can save you time and greatly improve consistency throughout your failure analysis. You can copy the FRACAS Lookup Table files that you create into the Common Library and enable them for use in multiple Projects. For more information, see Moving a File from the Project to the Common Library. If necessary, you can modify the key fields and data fields in an existing FRACAS Lookup Table file by rerunning the FRACAS Lookup Table Setup Wizard. For more information, see Rerunning the FRACAS Lookup Table Setup Wizard.

In the Enterprise Edition, the Windchill Risk and Reliability API can be used to synchronize data from external systems with FRACAS Lookup Table files. For more information, see the Windchill Risk and Reliability Data Engine API Guide.
