FMEA Table
The FMEA Table pane lists the FMEAs inserted in the System file. In a newly created System file, this table contains a default component FMEA that is tied to the default System Tree Items table.
The Table Format file for the FMEA Table determines the data fields that appear. The following table describes the fields that are shown by default. For more information, see Table Format Files.
Field
Description
FMEA Identifier
The unique identifier assigned to the FMEA. While an identifier is assigned to the FMEA when it is inserted, you can change it to any unique value. The format for the assigned identifier is specified by FMEA Table Identifier, which appears under Identifiers in the System file properties. For more information, see Identifiers Support File Properties.
FMEA Type
The type of FMEA. This field is display-only. When you insert a FMEA, you must select a type. Choices are Process, Functional, and Component. Once a FMEA is inserted, its type cannot be changed.
Configuration
The configuration to which a component FMEA is tied. This field is display-only. Each system tree configuration can have only one component FMEA tied to it. Once a component FMEA is inserted, the configuration to which it is tied cannot be changed. For a process or functional FMEA, this field is blank because neither of these types is tied to a configuration.
Remarks
Any notes or comments about the FMEA.
Clicking < Click here to insert a new record > in the last row starts the New FMEA Wizard so that you can insert a process, functional, or component FMEA. For more information, see Inserting a FMEA. The FMEA selected in the FMEA Table determines the hierarchical system structure shown in the FMEA Tree Items pane. For more information, see FMEA Types. The supplied Tablet PC Sample Project contains one FMEA of each type.
In the Enterprise Edition only, the FMEA Table supports 15 subtables.
