Part Data Columns
When the Results pane is in the Details view, the data columns shown for part searches depend on the type of library selected for searching in the Search pane. The search result columns are similar for EPRD, NPRD, and Prediction Parts Libraries. The table below describes all of the columns that can appear and indicates when they appear.
Column
Description
Part Number
The part number assigned to the part. This column always appears.
Description
A description of the part. This column appears only when results are for Prediction Parts Library files.
Category
The type of part. This column always appears.
Subcategory
The subtype of the part. This column always appears.
Alternate Part Number
Another part number assigned to this same part. This column appears only when results are for Prediction Parts Library files.
Library
The type of Library in which the part was found. This column appears only when results are for Prediction Parts Library files.
Failure Rate (FPMH)
The failure rate assigned to the part in failures per million hours. This column appears only when results are for the EPRD Library or an NPRD Library. For more information, see NPRD and EPRD Libraries.
*
While the failure rates for NPRD parts are in failures per million calendar hours, the failure rates for EPRD parts are in failures per million operating hours. If Uses Miles/Hour? or Uses Cycles/Hour? is selected under Prediction Data in the Results pane for an NPRD part, its failure rate is in failures per million miles or failures per million cycles. If you insert one of these NPRD parts into the System file, in its Prediction Data pane, you must supply the miles-per-hour value or cycles-per-hour value to convert its failure rate to failures per million hours. Only the newer NPRD 2011 Library includes parts with failure rates in failures per million cycles.
When the EPRD Library is searched, a merged failure rate might be the first result listed. This occurs when more than one search result is found and all search results have the same part category.
