Inserting an Assembly Directly in an Assembly Library File
In an Assembly Library file, you can insert an assembly in its System Tree Items table. You cannot insert individual parts in these files. All parts must be children of an assembly. The System Tree Items table in this support file can have multiple top-level items because the top-most assembly for each branch is shown at the top-level.
1. If the Assembly Library file is not already created or opened, then create or open it.
2. In the last row of the System Tree Items table, click < Click here to insert a top level assembly >. A new top-level assembly is inserted.
3. Complete the assembly record. For more information, see System Tree Items Table.
4. Enter data in the other panes that are shown. As described in Assembly Library File Overview, the panes shown depend on the modules in use.
5. For this top-level assembly, insert any child assemblies and/or parts. You can insert, move, cut, copy, paste, and delete items here in the same manner as you do in the System file.
6. Enter data in the panes shown for each child item. Based on which modules are in use, see:
Once you insert an assembly from this support file into a System file as described in Inserting a Library Assembly into a System File, you may need to modify the library data to better reflect the operation of the assembly and its child items in that particular system.
