Attachments
|
Provides for specifying the external files to copy into a folder so that you can open them from Windchill Risk and Reliability. For information about using this special field, see Inserting and Modifying Attachments.

Date
|
Stores dates in a date/time format. In the Project’s Data Definition file, you specify whether a date field is to display the date, the time, or both the date and the time. For dates, the current month, day, and year is the default. For times, 12:00:00 AM is the default. To edit a date field, you either type the date in the format shown or use the calendar control. For more information, see Using the Calendar Control. Blank dates and times are represented by underscores and separators.

Numeric
|
Stores numeric values at the level of precision specified.
|
|
Numeric - Calculated
|
Indicates a numeric value that is calculated. Results can be numeric values or currency values.
|
|
Numeric - Currency
|
Stores numeric values as monetary amounts based on Windows regional setting for currency (with a thousands separator if appropriate and two decimal places). For example, if United States English regional settings are in use, the display might be $2,532.75.

Special
|
Indicates that a field cannot be customized because it is predefined in a special way for internal use. This field can be of any type.

Text
|
Stores text strings up to 255 characters in length.
|
|
Text - ID
|
Stores text strings up to 255 characters in length that are used as unique identifiers.
|
|
Text - Memo
|
Stores much longer text strings (up to 65 kilobytes).
|
|
Text - Person
|
Stores text strings up to 255 characters in length that are used to identify people. In the Enterprise Edition, the system administrator can specify that the users defined in the Administrator application be assigned as a list to a field of this type. You can also create custom lists in List Library files in the Project and in the Common Library.

Text - Predefined List
|
Indicates a special text or memo field that is assigned a predefined list. You cannot assign a different list to this field type.
|
|
Yes/No
|
Stores values for a yes/no field. All yes/no fields in the System file display as graphical checkboxes. In the Project data, a 1 indicates that the checkbox is selected, and a 0 indicates that it is cleared. However, when using the Find and Replace window, you can enter any of the following as the search string for Find what: Yes, True, 1, No, False, or 0. For more information, see Find and Replace.
