Alerts (Enterprise Edition Only)
In the Enterprise Edition, you can license the Alert application so that it can act as a vigilant guardian of your Windchill Risk and Reliability data. This application continually monitors the FMEA and FRACAS data in specified Enterprise Edition Projects and sends email messages when user-specified alert criteria are met.
The Alert application supports time-based events, which means that alerts can be triggered based on the passage of time. An example would be the triggering of an alert when a FRACAS incident is open more than 30 days. The Alert application also supports functions such as Count, Max, Min, Sum, and Avg, which means that alerts can be triggered based on either a number of occurrences or the maximum, minimum, sum, or average value for a selected field.
A count-based example would be the triggering of an alert when the number of FRACAS incidents exceeds 25. An average-based example would be the triggering of an alert when the average repair time for a failed item is equal to or greater than 30 minutes. You can add supplementary filter criteria to alerts to create even more sophisticated monitoring functions. For instance, the count-based example given above could be further refined to include only open FRACAS incidents in the count.
