Component
Description
Windchill Risk and Reliability Alert Service 12.0
Runs every 60 seconds and sends out notification email messages when alert criteria are met. This service runs on the Windchill Risk and Reliability application server as a Windows service. Status information about this service is recorded in the Windows Event Log. Messages are outputted when the service is installed, started, stopped, and uninstalled. You can schedule alerts to run at set times or at specified intervals. Once every minute, the Windchill Risk and Reliability Alert Service checks all Projects in which Enabled Alerts has been selected in their Project properties to see if messages must be sent out. For more information, see General Project Properties. When the criteria for an alert is met, the alert is triggered, which means that the associated message is sent to all specified addresses. Processing and error messages are recorded in the History and Error Log panes in the Alert file. For more information, see Windchill Risk and Reliability Alert Service.
Alert File
Stores the user-specified criteria for sending alerts via email messages. In the Enterprise Edition, you can open the Alert file only if the Alert application is licensed and enabled. All permissions for this singular support file are set by your system administrator. For more information, see Alert File.
