Installing on Multiple Computers
You select the Custom setup type to install different Windchill Risk and Reliability components on different computers. You begin a custom installation in the same way as a full installation. For more information, see Program Installation. However, on the Setup Type page, you select Custom.
When you click Next , the Choose Components page appears so that you can select the components to install on the computer. When you place the mouse cursor over a component, the Description area on the right side of the page explains its purpose. In the lower left corner, Space required indicates the hard drive space required to install the selected components successfully.
Descriptions follow for component selections. If a component is already installed on the computer, its checkbox is unavailable. The Setup program will not reinstall the component.
Windchill Risk and Reliability
Installs the desktop application and the Administrator application on the computer. The desktop application is the cornerstone of the product suite. The Administrator application is used only by system administrators to define users, groups, and permissions. You install both of these applications on the computer that is to be the application server.
Client—Installs the Client folder on the application server. The path is Installation Directory\PTC\Windchill Risk and Reliability 12.0\Windchill Risk and Reliability\Client. This folder contains the files required for installing components on client computers. For more information, see Client Installations.
Once you make your selections and click Next, the Choose Install Location page appears so that you can indicate where to install the selected components. Installation then proceeds in a manner similar to the full installation. For more information, see step 8 in the program installation procedure.
