Inserting a Group by Copying and Modifying an Existing Group
You can insert a new Windchill Risk and Reliability group in the Groups area by copying and pasting an existing Windchill Risk and Reliability group. When you copy and paste a group, the newly inserted group has the same permissions as the original group. You then need only to modify those permissions that differ from the original group.
1. If the Groups area is not active, click the Groups icon in the shortcut bar.
2. In the Groups pane, do one of the following:
Right-click the group to copy and select Copy Record. Then, to paste it, right-click and select Paste Record.
Select the group to copy and then select Edit > Copy Record. Then, to paste it, select Edit > Paste Record.
When the paste is completed, the copied group appears in the Groups pane with a Copy of prefix in front of the new group name.
3. Change the name for the newly created group.
You can select and modify the group name in the Groups pane. Or, you can modify the value for Group name in the Permissions pane.
The Permissions pane displays the permissions for the group selected in the Groups pane. If you change the group name entered for Group name, the name in the Groups pane is not updated until you leave the Permissions pane.
4. In the Permissions pane, specify the permissions for the group. For more information, see Specifying Group Permissions.
5. In the Users pane, assign users to the group. For more information, see Assigning Users to a Group from the Groups Area.
6. In the Licensed Modules pane, specify which licensed modules can be acquired by the group. For more information, see Specifying Which Licenses a Group Can Acquire.
