Assigning Users to a Group from the Groups Area
You can assign Windchill Risk and Reliability users to any Windchill Risk and Reliability group in the Groups area using the Users pane. In the LDAP Groups area, no Users pane is present because users are assigned to groups on the LDAP servers themselves.
1. If the Groups area is not active, click the Groups icon in the shortcut bar.
2. In the Groups pane, click the group to which to assign users.
3. In the Users pane, select the users to assign to the group.
All defined users are shown in the Selected users list. You can click the Select All button or Clear All button to select or clear all users and then customize your selections from there.
To designate a user as a system administrator, you must assign that user to the Administrator group. To remove administrative permissions from a user, you must remove that user from the Administrator group.
When a user is assigned to more than one group, the permissions granted to the user are based on the group that the user selects for the session when logging into a Windchill Risk and Reliability application.
In some cases, removing a user from a group causes a window to open. Additional information about these cases appears in Group Removal - Special Cases.
