UpdateSecurityLabels Command Line Utility
The UpdateSecurityLabels command line utility is available for updating security label value settings on multiple objects. The utility allows for many changes to be made at once rather than manually updating the security labels on each object individually. For example, the utility could be run when security labels are initially enabled in a Windchill system that has a large number of existing objects.
The command line utility uses information provided in an input file to set security label values on specified objects. The input file must be in one of the following formats: XLS, XLSX. The input file can be manually created or it can be exported from Windchill. For more information about the input file, see UpdateSecurityLabels Command Line Utility Input File Requirements. For more information about exporting object data and security label settings from Windchill, see Exporting Objects with Current Security Label Values.
After running the UpdateSecurityLabels command line utility, a report file is generated with information about the changes that were made. By default, a summary line is listed as well as the input file location, and so on. For more information about the report file, see UpdateSecurityLabels Command Line Utility Output File.
