Updating a Host
To update a host definition from the Vault Configuration window:
1. Select the host you want to update.
2. Click or select Object > Update to open the Update Host window.
3. In the Host Name field, modify the DNS name or IP address of the system. The name you specify cannot have any blank values.
*
The system verifies mount validation, but does not verify that the host name that you enter is valid.
4. In the Site field, modify the site as applicable.
5. In the Host Type field, select one of the following:
Cluster Node—Hosts of this type share common mount paths.
Standalone Node—Hosts of this type can have different mount paths than another Cluster Node.
The mount path on all hosts must point to the same location.
6. Click OK.
*
All folders must be mounted to all defined hosts for a site. Otherwise, a method server running on a host without a mount is unable to access content files.
Review and consider the effects of deleting vault objects. For more information, see Deleting Vault Objects.
When a host is updated from a standalone node to a cluster node, mounts are handled as follows:
If there are no other cluster nodes, its associated mounts are retained. These mounts are copied to any new nodes that are added to the cluster when the nodes are created or updated from standalone to cluster.
If mounts are present on another cluster node, they are copied to this host.
