Add a New S1000D Product
To create a new product:
1. In the WindchillNavigator, click the Recent Products icon.
A list of recent products is displayed.
2. Click the View All link.
The list of current products is displayed in the right pane.
3. Click the New Product (New Product button) button.
The New Product dialog box is displayed.
4. Select the required product type from the Type pull-down list. For example, S1000D 4.0.1 Product.
5. Select the required library from the Look-up Libraries pull-down list.
6. To use Model ID-based ICNs, select Yes in the Use Model ID-based ICNs field
7. To use CAGE Code-based ICNs, select Yes in the Use CAGE Code-based ICNs field.
For information on Model-based ICNs and CAGE Code-based ICNs, see Information Control Numbers (ICN).
8. To have ICN Metadata Files (IMF) supported in your product (S1000D 4.2 products only), select Yes in the Use ICN Metadata Files field.

9. Enter the name of the new product in the Name box.
10. Select the required product template from the Template pull-down list. For example, S1000D 4.0.1 Product Template.
11. Enter a description in the Description box.
12. Select an access type from the Private Access option buttons; Yes or No.
13. In the S1000D Initial Information section:
a. Set the Model Identification (MI) Code and System Difference Code attributes for the product.
b. Select the appropriate product type template from the S1000D Template pull-down list.
14. In the S1000D Data Module Details section, set all the required attributes for the product.
15. In the S1000D Data Module Business Decisions section, set all the required attributes for the product.
16. If appropriate, in the S1000D ICN Model Identification-based Defaults section, set all the required attributes for the product.

This is disabled if Use Model ID-based ICNs is set to No.
17. If appropriate, in the S1000D ICN CAGE Code-based Defaults section, set all the required attributes for the product.

This is disabled if Use CAGE Code-based ICNs is set to No.
18. In the XML Validation section, set all the required attributes for the product.
19. In the S1000D Validation section, set all the required attributes for the product.
20. In the InService A&D Publishing Configuration section, specify the default details of any publish to Servigistics InService A&D action for the product.
The attributes in this field are not available for S1000D 4.2 products.
This configuration is mandatory to use the Servigistics InService A&D publishing capability.

Servigistics InService A&D publishing is optional.
You can define multiple Publication Identifiers for the product. The list you provide here will be presented when creating a new publication. For more information, see Create New Publication Structure Dialog Box

21. In the Common Information Repository Reference Type section, specify the types of reference that can be used in a data module to access TIR data.
The section is named Technical Information Repository Reference Type if creating a product using S1000D Issue 4.0.1.
22. Click OK.
The new product is created and added to the list of products.

It can take some time to create the new product, depending on complexity and the attributes selected.
