Object templates are used in many different Windchill activities, such as creating documents, products, libraries, and organizations, defining workflow processes, and establishing the life cycles associated with objects. Each type of template provides a unique set of data that is used in the activity.

For example, document templates usually include a template file that users can then use to create a certain type of document. (Arbortext Content Manager or Windchill PDMLink only)
