Product Information Page
A product is typically thought of as the physical item manufactured and sold to customers. Windchill expands the concept of a product to include the environment in which users collaborate to develop that end item part. For more information on products, see About Products.
The product information page is a collection point for information related to the product. The information page of a product is accessed by selecting Products > Details from the Navigator.
From the information page, you can perform actions as well as view the attributes and any related information for the product.
For an overview of information page functionality, see Information Pages.
Information pages contain a list of applicable actions in a menu just below the object identification line. For more information, see Product Actions.
On product information pages, the Details tab is available.
Administrators may have modified the tabs that are viewable to you. You can also customize the tabs that appear on each information page to display the information most useful to you. For more information, see Customizing Information Page Tabs.
Under the Details tab you can view and edit the product attributes. The following attributes may be of particular interest for products:
The type of the product. This determines if any additional attributes (defined by your site) appear. See your administrator for more information on types.
The user who created the product.
Private Access
If Yes, then access is restricted to use only the access control policies that are defined within the product context being created; any public access policy rules written at the organization level are not inherited by the product.
If No, then the product is accessible based on the access control policies that are defined for the product context and those inherited access control policies defined in the parent context.
See your administrator for more information on access control.
The template selected when the product was created.
