Overview of Installation
Installation of the Windchill Gateway for FORAN involves many components. The following steps summarize the installation process:
1. Install Message Oriented Middleware server
2. Install Windchill components
3. Install Windchill Gateway for FORAN components
Prerequisites

If you have a TIBCO EMS server, see FORAN Gateway Configuration For TIBCO EMS for additional configuration information.
Refer to the standard PTC platform support matrix available at http://www.ptc.com/appserver/cs/doc/refdoc.jsp to view production hardware and software support.
A successful Windchill Gateway for FORAN installation requires the following prerequisites:
• The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) and the Java 2 Platform prerequisites are the same as in the Windchill platform supported matrix for release 11.0. The client-side Java must be compatible with the Windchill Java version.
• Windchill PDMLink installed
• Windchill Gateway for FORAN components installed
• Windchill Shipbuilding Template
• Creo View
• Windchill PartsLink Integration Client
Installing Components Sequence
You can install components by staging area (a file location from where the component downloads) on the respective CD, or by media. If you are choosing a staging area for installation, then you need to copy the installers from these CD images:
• PTC Windchill 11.0 Shipbuilding Template
• PTC Windchill 11.0 Gateway for FORAN – FORAN_IA

This option is installed using the bundled PTC Solution Installer (PSI). Refer to the Windchill Installation and Configuration Guide located at http://www.ptc.com/support/support.htm, for more details.

This option is installed using the bundled PTC Solution Installer (PSI). Both these gateways share common inputs in the inputs panel, and can be reviewed in the installation summary panel.
Installing Windchill Gateway for FORAN on an Existing Gateway for Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager
This option is installed using the bundled PTC Solution Installer (PSI). This update does not require any further user inputs. All the inputs can be reviewed in the installation summary panel.
