About Exporting Redline Product Data to Excel
You can export product data with planned redline changes from Windchill PDMLink to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. After exporting planned redline product data to a spreadsheet, you can modify it to conform to the import format and then import it back into the planned redline in Windchill PDMLink.
To export redline structures, use the Export Redline Importable Spreadsheet action described in How to Export Redline Product Data to Excel. Before exporting, see the information in Considerations for Exporting Redline Product Data.
You can export the following type of data using the Export Redline Importable Spreadsheet action:
Type
Example
Redline Parts
A component engineer may need to modify attributes for a large number of redline parts. The component engineer locates the existing parts on the change with an open redline and then exports them to a spreadsheet. The component engineer opens the spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel and modifies the corresponding attributes. After modifying the attributes, the component engineer can import the spreadsheet with the changes back into Windchill PDMLink as part of the open redline on the parts.
Redline BOM
A manufacturing engineer needs to send a redline product structure to a supplier for review. The supplier may have requested the format to be a spreadsheet or a CSV file. The manufacturing engineer locates the redline product structure in Windchill, exports redline data to a spreadsheet, and sends it to the supplier.
Redline Replacements
A manufacturing engineer needs to send a redline product structure to a supplier for review and also wants the supplier to know the replacements for the objects in the redline product structure.
