Automatic Schedule Re-Optimization on Technician Unavailability
Automatically re-optimize and redistribute work orders when a technician becomes unavailable to maintain uninterrupted service during the operational day.
A technician’s availability status changes to unavailable during the operational day. A Dispatcher relies on the Optimization Engine to detect technician unavailability and automatically re-optimize impacted schedules. When a technician becomes unavailable, the engine redistributes affected work orders to qualified technicians during the next optimization cycle. This maintains service continuity without manual intervention.
Example
Technician John reports sick at 1:00 PM. The Optimization Engine updates John’s availability status to unavailable for the remainder of the day. It identifies four remaining work orders assigned to John and initiates the next optimization cycle.
The Optimization Engine reassigns John’s work orders to nearby qualified technicians with available capacity and recalculates routes and ETAs for the reassigned work.
Result
The The Optimization Engine maintains service continuity without requiring manual rescheduling by the Dispatcher.
