Automated Same-Day Dispatching
Automatically dispatch eligible same-day work orders at configurable intervals using Current Day Optimization (CDO) to continuously optimize technician schedules without manual intervention.
A Dispatcher uses automated CDO to dispatch same-day work orders at configurable intervals. Each optimization cycle continuously evaluates technician availability and assigns eligible work orders without manual action. This ensures optimal resource utilization and minimizes idle time during the day.
• Enable automated same-day dispatch through CDO on the Service Board.
• Configure CDO to run as a batch optimization at defined intervals (for example, every hour).
• In each cycle, CDO evaluates eligible work orders and dispatches them automatically without manual intervention.
Example
At 9:00 AM, a dispatcher has 25 open work orders scheduled for the day. By 11:30 AM, 5 technicians complete jobs earlier than expected, freeing up capacity.
Instead of the dispatcher manually checking availability and assigning new work:
• CDO runs automatically every 1 hour as scheduled.
• The system detects available technician slots.
• Eligible same-day work orders are automatically dispatched to the best-fit technicians.
Result
Same-day work is continuously optimized without dispatcher involvement.
