What's New
The following are the new features in ServiceMax Core 23.2.
Schedule Optimization
Support for Service Board Shifts in Batch Optimization
Schedule Optimization now supports Service Board technician shifts in Batch Optimization. The technician shift information in Service Board can now be retrieved in Schedule Optimization. This information is then used as technician working hours, and technician routes are created in Schedule Optimization respecting these hours.
With this integration, the technician shift information created by Service Board users is seamlessly used in Batch Optimization. This eliminates the need for duplicate data creation and provides a better experience for users using both Service Board and Batch Optimization.
Propose Time Option to Book Fixed Arrival Window Slots in Batch Optimization
Users can now book fixed arrival slots for work orders in Batch Optimization using the Propose Time SFM Wizard in work orders. This feature helps users provide fixed arrival slots instantaneously to their customers, even in Batch Optimization. When a fixed arrival slot is booked for a work order, the next batch optimization run will respect the fixed arrival slot and schedule it accordingly.
The implementer or administrator must create the Propose Time SFM and add it to the Work Order object. Then, the end-users, such as dispatchers or planners, can use the Propose Time SFM from the work order to book a fixed arrival slot for the work order.
Web App
Lightning Wizard Designer
The SFM Wizard Designer is now available in the Lightning experience. On the lightning org instances, Wizard Designer now loads with a lightning experience. The load time is reduced with the new lightning UI-based Wizard compared to the old classic Visual Force UI-based Wizard. The improved user experience and capabilities available with the Lightning Wizard experience are as follows:
• Fewer clicks to set up a Wizard, and add Wizard Steps in one view.
• Pre-defined filters using the Search box to find Wizard or Wizard Steps easily.
• Lightning Wizard UI properties such as tooltip help, hover text on the disabled step, display icon, and so on.
• Functional properties Display Record on Save and Handover to Target Record.
• Ability to create a missing SFM when adding a new step.
• Ability to rearrange steps using drag and drop.
• Quick search option to easily select from the list of items.
• Reordering wizards made simple.
• Ability to mark a wizard Active or Inactive with a single click.

Lightning Wizard Designer.
SFM Designer
Allow Clone Section Property
The admin can now decide if the user must have the option to clone the child line or not during the debrief action. A new property, Allow Clone, is available on the related or child object section and is enabled by default. If the Allow Clone toggle button is enabled, the user can use the Clone option available on the SFM Delivery Grid View and Extended Edit Window to clone an existing child line. If the Allow Clone toggle button is disabled, the user cannot use the Clone option on the SFM Delivery Grid View and Extended Edit Window. The Allow Clone property is visible only if the Allow New property is enabled on the Section Properties of an SFM page layout.
|
• The Allow Clone property is supported on the Web delivery only, not Mobile Apps.
• The Allow Clone property is visible only if the Allow New property is enabled on the Section Properties of an SFM page layout.

For more information, see
Child Object Section.
Transaction Related List View
The Transaction Related List on the ServiceMax Setup page is used to view and manage a list of formulas, lookups, and layouts used in the SFM transactions. The admin can view the following list views:
• Formula list view
• Lookup Configuration list view
• Transaction Layout list view
The admin can perform the following actions on the Transaction Related List View:
• Search for a specific formula, lookup, or transaction layout in the Search box using a minimum of three characters
• Use the Where Used icon to know the list of SFMs where the selected configuration is used.
• Delete single or multi-select and delete multiple invalid or orphan configurations from one place. Previously, the admin had to open each SFM configuration page to perform these actions.
For more information, see
SFM Related List.
IoT Integration
Technical Attribute Lightning Widget
Users can now view and capture attributes for an IB using the new lightning widget Core - Technical Attributes. They can manage attributes from IB or any IB-referenced record. They can perform the following actions:
• View Technical Attributes of an IB along with record details.
• Capture attribute values.
• View attribute history. Additionally, the piqTechAttributeHistory component is enhanced to display details of the users that have made updates to the attributes, along with showing timestamps and attribute history.
• View numeric attribute history trend.
• View asset-specific or template-specific attributes.
• View the indicator on the attributes for values outside the defined range.
Technical Attributes API to Manage Multiple IB Attributes from External System
The Technical Attributes REST API allows users to create and update technical attributes of one or more IB records. A new API endpoint saveTechnicalAttibutes allows sending multiple IB attributes in the same request structure and supports additional information for each attribute being monitored on the IoT platform.
The new REST API supports the following additional keys as input:
• timeOfOccurence: Actual timestamp when attribute displayed specific value.
• lastOccurrenceTimeList: Multiple entries for the same attribute detailing value and timestamp when the attribute displayed a specific value for a specific asset.
• assetIdentifierFieldAPIName: The field on the IB record that holds external identifier value.
• assetIdentifiers: The list of key(s) and value(s) in the request to recognize the correct asset that matches the external identifier value.
The information sent in the request is maintained in the Time of Occurrence and Last Occurrence fields on the IB Technical Attribute record.
With these enhancements, connected systems can share real-time IB data, enabling better decision-making.

Technical Attribute REST APIs.
Servigistics Integration
Field Stock Optimization
ServiceMax has introduced Parts Planning and optimization powered by Servigistics. The feature allows organizations to optimize inventory levels in their Field Stocking Locations.
Investigations Data Model
A new data model is added to facilitate documenting observations, root causes, and resolutions by any user involved in the investigation in a structured way.
