IB Option Configurations
IB Option Configuration records link an Installed Product to specific Option Choices, defining the exact product configuration for pre-filtered Product Structure views.
The Product Structure (ServiceBOM) on an Installed Product record can automatically filter to show only the parts that match the product's configuration. This pre-filtering is driven by IB Option Configuration records.
The IB Option Configurations object is a junction that connects an Installed Product record to the Option Choices that define its specific configuration. Each record stores two lookups: one to the Installed Product and one to an Option Choice. An administrator can create one IB Option Configuration record for every Option Choice that applies to a given Installed Product.
When the ServiceBOM tab is opened from an Installed Product, the Product Structure component reads the linked IB Option Configuration records and pre-populates the Filter by Options section with the configured Option Choices. The Product Structure tree displays only the parts that match the configuration. Without IB Option Configuration records, the ServiceBOM displays the full overloaded BOM with no filtering.
You can create IB Option Configuration records individually or use the Import option on the IB Option Configurations list view to create records in bulk.
*
Before creating IB Option Configuration records, verify that an Option Set is assigned to the Product Structure and that the required Options and Option Choices are already configured. For more information, see Overloaded Service BOM Filtering with Options and Option Choices.
Deleting an IB Option Configuration record removes that Option Choice from the pre-filtered view the next time you open the ServiceBOM from the Installed Product.
An Installed Product might support more than one valid Option Choice for a single Option. In that case, create a separate IB Option Configuration record for each choice. For example, if a Soniscape SSI 1000 supports both the Standard Probe and the High-Frequency Probe, create two records; one for each probe type. Both choices appear as tags under the Probe Type Option in the Filter by Options section.
Key Fields
Each IB Option Configuration record has two fields:
Installed Product: Lookup to the Installed Product record that represents the customer's specific piece of equipment.
Option Choice: Lookup to the Option Choice record that defines one aspect of this equipment's configuration (for example, a specific processor type, RAM size, or storage capacity).
Use Cases
Pre-filtering the Service BOM for a specific Installed Product variant
Role: Technician
Iniscope International ships Soniscape SSI 1000 ultrasound machines in several factory-defined configurations that vary by probe type, power module, and display assembly. IB Option Configuration records are created or integrated from an ERP system when Installed Product records are created, so each Installed Product has its exact configuration on file. The administrator ensures this integration is in place rather than authoring records by hand. When a technician at Life Line hospital opens the ServiceBOM tab from the Installed Product for an SSI 1000, the tree automatically shows only the parts that apply to that unit's configuration, without searching through the full overloaded BOM.

Example
An Installed Product record for Soniscape SSI 1000 – High-Frequency Variant has the following IB Option Configuration records, each pointing to a different Option Choice:
Probe Type: High-Frequency Probe
Power Supply: External Power Module
When a technician opens the Installed Product record for Soniscape SSI 1000 – High-Frequency Variant and navigates to the ServiceBOM tab, the Filter by Options section displays each Option as a dropdown picklist. The configured Option Choices are pre-selected in the dropdowns, and corresponding tags appear below each dropdown to confirm the active selections. The Product Structure tree below the filter section shows only the parts that match this configuration.
