Technician or Equipment Fields
The following table displays details about technician and equipment fields:
Fields
Description
Member Name
Full name of the technician/equipment.
Service Team
Name of the Service Team. This is a lookup to an existing Service Team in ServiceMax.
Active
A flag indicates if this member is active and available for Work Order assignments. This flag drives the functionality in both Dispatch Console and Schedule Optimization.
Member Information
Additional information about the member relevant to service delivery.
Role
Role of the member in the group. Your system admin is responsible for configuring this list for your organization's requirements.
Salesforce User
Name of the Salesforce user associated with the technician. Applicable only for Technicians. This is a link to an existing Salesforce user.
Street
"Street" part of the technician or equipment address.
City
"City" part of the technician or equipment address.
State
"State" part of the technician or equipment address.
Zip
"Zip or Postal Code" part of the technician or equipment address.
Country
"Country" part of the technician or equipment address.
Phone
Telephone number of the technician.
Email
Email ID of the technician. This is used to notify the technician when Work Orders are assigned.
Third-Party
The flag indicates whether this technician is an employee or a third-party service provider.
Current Latitude
Geographical code of the technician's current location. This is set automatically if GPS Location Tracking is enabled in any of the ServiceMax mobile apps.
Current Longitude
Geographical code of the technician's current location. This is set automatically if GPS Location Tracking is enabled in any of the ServiceMax mobile apps.
Home Latitude
Geographical code for this technician's address. This is calculated automatically using the Validate Address feature.
Home Longitude
Geographical code for this technician's address. This is calculated automatically using the Validate Address feature.
Average Speed
Average speed the technician travels on the road. Used in Schedule Optimization.
Average Drive Time
Average drive time the technician travels on the road. Used in Schedule Optimization.
Max Distance
Distance in miles if the technician cannot travel beyond this limit on a given route. Used in Schedule Optimization.
Per Mile Cost
Average travel cost per mile for the technician. Used in Schedule Optimization.
Per Hour Cost
The average cost of technician time. Used in Schedule Optimization.
Fixed Cost
Any fixed costs associated with the technician for each day of Work Order activity. Used in Schedule Optimization.
Enable Scheduling
Indicates if the technician's calendar must be managed by ServiceMax. Applies to third-party technicians and equipment that are not linked to a Salesforce user.
Inventory Location
Technician's inventory location.
Service Territory
Service Territory to which this technician belongs—a reference to an existing Territory record in ServiceMax.

If you are using Schedule Optimization and have used the Optimized Batch method for automated scheduling, if you change the Service Territory of any Technician, you must also manually change the Territories of all the future work orders assigned to that particular Technician accordingly, so that those work orders are considered for rescheduling if required. For example, if you change the Service Territory of "Technician 1" from “Territory A” to “Territory B,” you must manually do a cleanup of all the future “Territory A” work orders assigned to “Technician 1” for them to be considered for rescheduling.
Working Hours
Working Hours applicable to the technician. Reference to an existing Business Hours record in Salesforce.
Break Hours
Break hours applicable to the technician. Reference to an existing Business Hours record in Salesforce.
Efficiency Factor
Technician's efficiency factor. Accepted values are:
1.0 (default value)
0.5 (less efficient)
2.0 (more efficient)
If the technician efficiency criteria are enabled in the Schedule Optimization dispatch process, the corresponding Work Order event Duration value for the qualifying work orders is updated based on the Efficiency Factor value of the associated technician.
