Sharing Settings
You can configure sharing settings (also known as Organization-Wide Defaults or OWD) for ServiceMax objects, similar to how you do for Salesforce standard objects and other custom objects in your org. When configuring these, the following aspects are important.
Any objects for which Sharing Setting is configured as Private, should have Sharing Rules defined as appropriate, to ensure that the group of users, who need access to records, have the required permissions, and not just the record owners.
For example, though a work order might be owned by a single primary technician, there might be other technicians who work on it; one or more dispatchers will also need access to the work order to manage the schedules.
For dispatchers to manage the technicians’ schedules, technicians need to fully share their calendar with the dispatchers. This will enable the dispatchers to view and manage all the events on the technicians’ calendars.
