Performing Dynamic Adjustments for PM Plans
The Dynamic Rescheduling feature acknowledges PM Work Orders completed earlier or later than the PM Scheduled On Date field value. It considers the predefined schedule and actual delivery of the planned work and adjusts schedules dynamically. The following section explains how to perform the adjustments.
*
This applies to both Time-Based and Condition-Based PM Plans.
Performing Adjustments for Work Orders Completed Early
You can define when a future PM visit should be rescheduled based on the early completion of the current PM visit Work Order.
Example:
A PM Work Order is scheduled for April 1, and the next PM Work Order is scheduled for May 1, and so on. The technician can finish the first PM Work Order by March 15. So, the succeeding PM Work Order schedules should also move 15 days early, that is April 15. The PM engine dynamically reschedules the upcoming PM Work Orders early based on the completion of the current PM Work Order.
Performing Adjustments for Work Orders Completed Later
You can define how much a future PM visit should be rescheduled based on the delayed completion of the current PM visit Work Order.
Example:
A PM Work Order is scheduled for April 1, and the next PM Work Order is scheduled for May 1, and so on. The technician can finish the first PM Work Order by April 15. So, the succeeding PM Work Order schedules should also move 15 days later, that is May 15. The PM engine dynamically reschedules the upcoming PM Work Orders later based on the completion of the current PM Work Order.
When the Type is Fixed
To perform adjustments to the service delivery dates when the type is fixed:
1. Select the Work Order and identify the Activity time value according to the configuration setting rules.
2. Calculate the difference between this date and the following scheduled date computed initially based on the predefined interval.
a. If the difference is less than or equal to the Minimum Activity Changed, an adjustment is not made.
b. If the deviation is greater than Min Activity Changed and less than or equal to Max Activity Changed, then the Adjusted Value is added based on Adjusted Units to the initially computed next scheduled date for the yet-to-process PM schedules.
c. If the deviation is greater than Max Activity Changed, then the Max Activity Changed value is added to the initially computed next scheduled date.
When the Type is Actual
To perform adjustments to the service delivery dates when the type is actual:
1. Select the Work Order and identify the Activity time value according to the configuration setting rules.
2. Calculate the difference between this date and the following scheduled date computed initially based on the predefined interval.
a. If the difference is less than or equal to the Minimum Activity Changed, an adjustment is not made.
b. If the deviation is greater than Min Activity Changed and less than or equal to Max Activity Changed, then the deviation value is added to the initially computed next scheduled date.
c. If the deviation is greater than Max Activity Changed, then the Max Activity Changed value is added to the initially computed next scheduled date.
After the PM plans and PM processes are set up, the scheduler picks up the PM Processes, and the eligible Time-Based or Condition-Based PM Plans to check whether PM Work Orders are ready to be created. The scheduler creates Work Orders and related records for qualified PM Plans which are due.
