High-level Work Flow
This section provides a high-level overview of the Utilization metric calculation process. It helps you to understand the available configuration options and how they help to qualify the records for qualification and calculation of the metrics. The Utilization metric is calculated based on Time Sheet and it provides the utilization percentage of the technician's total time for productive work.
1. The system determines the records belonging to which time frame should be considered for metric calculation. The system picks up the records based on the following filters:
• Records belonging to the time-frame Created Date is greater than today minus the value of global setting SET007. The default value of SET007 is 60 days. You can update/edit the value of SET007 as required.
• Last Modified Date of the record is greater than the last execution time of the SPM Engine.
2. Define the inputs to be used in metrics calculation. Select the source for the Non-Productive Time, Leave, and Break Time fields . This helps the system to measure the details of time spent as recorded by the technician for non-productive time, leave, break time, etc.
3. Use the criteria tab to select the expression to qualify the time sheets for metrics calculation. This expression filters and qualifies the time sheets for metrics calculation. The system uses only the approved time sheets for utilization metric calculation.
The utilization metric is calculated as (Productive Time/Available Time) *100 . You can use the Reports and Dashboards to visualize the percentage of Utilization metrics based on various categories.
