Creating an Auto-Assignment Rule for Service Product
You can create a rule for Service Product that defines specific criteria and conditions for Work Plan assignment. A default rule is included in the core package. You can clone and modify this rule based on your requirements.
To create an auto-assignment rule for Service Products:
1. From the Home page, go to ServiceMax Setup > Work Plan Management > Auto-Assigment Rules.
2. Click Add Rule.
The Auto-Assignment Rule page is displayed.

3. Configure the fields as described in the following table:
Field
Description
Rule Name
Enter a name for the rule.
Rule Active
Enable this toggle button to activate the rule. Only active rules are considered for execution.
Assign Work Plan To
From the drop-down, select Service Product.
This field specifies that the rule is configured for Service Products to assign a Work Plan to qualified Service Products. This is a mandatory field.
Developer Name
Indicates the unique ID of the rule.
Qualification Criteria
Select a criteria (SFM Expressions) from the drop-down to qualify Work Orders for assigning a Work Plan. The drop-down lists SFM Expressions created for a Work Order. For more information, see SFM Expressions.
For example, to assign work plans to service products associated with Field Service type Work Orders, define a criteria to filter Work Orders by the 'Field Service' type.

Click View to view or edit the selected expression in expression builder page.
In the drop-down, click Create New to create a new expression.

Enter a description for the rule.
4. Configure any of the following options to apply Work Plan to Service Products:
5. Select Perform Entitlement Check when Work Plan is Assigned to check entitlement and assign coverage details on assigned Work Plans.
6. Select Perform entitlement check on Service Product if it is not entitled to check entitlement on the Service product if it is not covered.
7. Click Save.
