Pricebook Assignment Rules
The Pricebook Assignment Rules feature allows business administrators to define rules used by the Auto-Entitlement engine when no pricebook is available on the qualified Service Contract or Warranty. The Pricebook Assignment Rules assigns the right Service Pricebook based on Contract, Asset Warranty, Account-based Regional Warranty, or Contract on Work Order in the entitlement engine.
By default, the Auto-Entitlement engine assigns Service Contract or Warranty pricebook to Work Order if available. When the Service Contract or Warranty pricebook is not assigned, the Auto-Entitlement engine applies the Pricebook Assignment Rules to qualify the correct pricebook and assign it to Work Order.
Use Case
The following list explains the use cases for the Pricebook Assignment Rules:
Apply regional pricebook to Work Order. When Service Organization sends technicians from different regions, it still applies the correct pricebook based on where the work is getting executed.
Apply strategic account pricebook as Service Organization can have specific pricebook for a given account or group of Strategic Accounts.

Pricebook Assignment Rules are only applicable to the Entitlement engine on Work Order.
