Pre-Configured Matching Rules
Review the pre-configured matching rules that PTC Orbit creates automatically when Staging Review is enabled for Asset or Product objects.
How Pre-Configured Rules Work
PTC Orbit automatically creates matching rules when Staging Review is enabled for the Asset or Product object. These rules ship with the installation and activate through an event handler; no manual rule creation is required.
How it works: An event handler fires when Staging Review is toggled on for Asset or Product. The handler creates a fully configured matching rule. The rule starts in an inactive state.

Disabling and Re-Enabling Staging Review
Disabling Staging Review: Turning off Staging Review for an object deletes the generated matching rule.
Re-enabling Staging Review: If Staging Review is re-enabled after being turned off, the system creates a new matching rule. It does not restore the previously deleted one. This avoids validation failures that could arise from reviving a user-modified rule.

You can modify or activate these rules exactly as you would a manually created rule. See Activating or Deactivating a Rule and Updating a Matching Rule.
