Use Global Search to find records across assets, work orders, accounts, and products from any page in PTC Orbit.
Overview
Global Search in PTC Orbit provides a centralized way to find records across the application. The search box, located in the header section of the app, allows you to enter queries in plain language and retrieve results from multiple objects such as assets, work orders, accounts, and products. Search results are displayed in a card-based layout when the query spans multiple objects, or as a list view for a single object type.
You can save frequently used searches for quick access, rename them for better organization, and reload them at any time from your search history. Recent search items are also available directly from the search box, so you can revisit previous queries without re-entering them. This functionality helps you locate the information you need quickly, reducing the time spent navigating between different sections of the application.

Quick Record Lookup: Locate specific asset, work order, or account records instantly by entering keywords or natural-language queries in the search box.
Cross-Object Discovery: Run a single search that returns results across multiple object types, helping you identify related records without switching between modules.
