Sequential state (service) (UPDM - DoDAF aliases)
A Sequential State (Service) is a proprietary element that is required to model UPDM in Modeler.
Creation
To create a Sequential State (Service):
• From a
State Description (Service) or Sequential State (Service): right-click the element, point to New, point to DoDAF, and then click Sequential State (Service).
• From an
SOV-4b Service State Model: click the
Sequential State (Service) button, and then click in free space on the diagram or within a Sequential State (Service).

SOV-4b Service State Model, a Sequential State (Service) appears as follows:

Relationships
The following relationships are of importance to a Sequential State (Service):
• UML Transitions link a Sequential State (Service) to other State Diagram elements (SOV-4b Service State Model).
• Activity (Service) elements can be invoked by a Concurrent State (Service): right-click the Concurrent State (Service), point to Links, and then click Do Service Function.
• Operation (Service) elements can be invoked by a Concurrent State (Service): right-click the Concurrent State (Service), point to Links, and then click Do Service Operation.
• State Description (Service) elements can be invoked by a Concurrent State (Service): right-click the Concurrent State (Service), point to Links, and then click Do Service State Machine.
