Concurrent state (service) (UPDM - DoDAF aliases)
A Concurrent State (Service) is a proprietary element that is required to model UPDM in Modeler.
Creation
To create a Concurrent State (Service):
From a State Description (Service): right-click the State Description (Service), point to New, point to DoDAF, and then click Concurrent State (Service).
From an SOV-4b Service State Model: click the Concurrent State (Service) button, and then click in free space on the diagram.
To create a new compartment on a Concurrent State (Service):
From a Concurrent State (Service): right-click the Concurrent State (Service), point to New, point to DoDAF, and then click Sequential State (Service).
From an SOV-4b Service State Model: click the Service Concurrent Compartment button, and then click the Concurrent State (Service).

Relationships
The following relationships are of importance to a Concurrent State (Service):
UML Transitions link a Concurrent State (Service) to other State Diagram elements (SOV-4b Service State Model).
Activity (Service) elements can be invoked by a Concurrent State (Service): right-click the Concurrent State (Service), point to Links, and then click Do Service Function.
Operation (Service) elements can be invoked by a Concurrent State (Service): right-click the Concurrent State (Service), point to Links, and then click Do Service Operation.
State Description (Service) elements can be invoked by a Concurrent State (Service): right-click the Concurrent State (Service), point to Links, and then click Do Service State Machine.
