Creation
To create an NAV-1 Overview and Summary Information:
Right-click the Architectural Description or Service Description that is to own the NAV-1 Overview and Summary Information, point to New, point to Diagram, point to NAF, and then click NAV-1 Overview and Summary Information.
Purpose
On an NAV-1 Overview and Summary Information:
Create an executive-level summary of the Architectural Description.
Content
When you create an NAV-1 Overview and Summary Information, the text diagram contains a framework for producing the description.
Modeler creates the framework for producing the description by copying a Text Diagram template. The Text Diagram template is named [Default] and it resides in the following package in the UPDM Profile:
UPDM Profile::All::AV-1 Template
You can change the content of new NAV-1 Overview and Summary Information products by customizing the Text Diagram template.
If you want to refer to any products or elements in the NAV-1 Overview and Summary Information, you can reference those products or elements through Model Object References. To create a Model Object Reference: from an appropriate pane or diagram, drag the product or element to the NAV-1 Overview and Summary Information. You can right-click a Model Object Reference and, for example, find the referenced Product or Element in the Packages pane.
