Concurrent state (system) (UPDM - DoDAF aliases)
A Concurrent State (System) is a proprietary element that is required to model UPDM in Modeler.
Creation
To create a Concurrent State (System):
• From a State Description (System): right-click the State Description (System), point to New, point to DoDAF, and then click Concurrent State (System).
• From an SV-10b Systems State Transition Description: click the Concurrent State (System) toolbar button, and then click in free space on the diagram.
To create a new compartment on a Concurrent State (System):
• From a Concurrent State (System): right-click the Concurrent State (System), point to New, point to DoDAF, and then click Sequential State (System).
• From an SV-10b Systems State Transition Description: click the Resource Concurrent Compartment toolbar button, and then click the Concurrent State (System).

Relationships
The following relationships are of importance to a Concurrent State (System):
• UML Transitions link a Concurrent State (System) to other State Diagram elements ( SV-10b Systems State Transition Description).
• Activity (System) elements can be invoked by a Concurrent State (System): right-click the Concurrent State (System), point to Links, and then click Do Function.
• Operation (System) elements can be invoked by a Concurrent State (System): right-click the Concurrent State (System), point to Links, and then click Do Resource Operation.
• State Description (System) elements can be invoked by a Concurrent State (System): right-click the Concurrent State (System), point to Links, and then click Do Resource State Machine.
