Finding out which objects are linked through an object's associations (TellMe utility)
You can find out which objects are linked to an object through its associations in the following ways.
To find linked objects through the browser:
1. In the browser, expand the object.
2. Expand the appropriate association folder.
3. The objects that are linked through that association are shown.
You can populate the item and stub counts for each association folder by exporting the counts - right-click the object, point to Export Counts, and then click To XML.
To find linked objects through a report:
1. In the Browser tab or the Find tab, right-click the object, and then click Export Item, and then click the appropriate command.
◦ To Excel—creates the report as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. The spreadsheet has two sheets; one sheet for the object's attributes and another sheet for the object's associations. Note that the To Excel command is available only if Microsoft Excel is installed on your computer.
◦ To HTML—creates the report as an HTML file, and opens the file in a viewer.
◦ To XML—creates the report as an XML file, and opens the file in a viewer.
2. If required, save the HTML or XML file through the Save button, or save the Excel spreadsheet.
To find linked objects through the find tab:
1. In the Browser tab, select the source object.
How?
2. Click the Find tab.
3. Right-click an entry in the search criteria, and the click Check All.
4. Click the Find button.
The linked objects are listed in the Results pane. The Found In Role(s) column records which associations link each object.
