Use this method when you want a feature to apply to an item when that item appears on any diagram. For example, you may use a specific image for a Class whenever it appears on a diagram.
The style features you set may be overridden.

To define symbol features for an individual item:
1. Open the item's Property Pages.
2. On the Style tab, click Edit.
3. On the Style Modification dialog, set the symbol features as required, and then click OK.

Each symbol feature you set will be used when the item is added to any diagram, unless the feature is overridden by symbol features defined for an individual symbol.
