Choosing variants to include and exclude through the variant selector
If this is the first time you have used the Variant Selector:

How the status of a variant can be set - variant selector
How the status of a variation point can be set - variant selector

The Variant Selector has been designed to not expose internal Variation Points. If you need to make decisions for internal Variation Points, use the Decision Set Editor.
To choose variants to include and exclude through the variant selector:
1. In Modeler, open the model that contains the Decision Set for which you want to include and exclude Variants
2. Start the Variant Selector.
3. In the left pane, click the Decision Set you want to edit.
The Decision Set expands to show the external Variation Points in the model.
4. For each Variation Point that has Variants you want to include or exclude:
a. In the left pane, click the Variation Point.
b. In the rightmost pane, for each Variant you want to include or exclude, click the Include button or Exclude button as required.
*
If the Variant has a parameter that does not have a default value (a control appears for the parameter but no value is selected), setting the Decision to Include will not result in the Status being set to Included until you a value is set for the parameter.
After setting up the Decision Set you can use it to create a Product Model. For more information see:
