Checking in a model the first time - with ClearCase (CM tool integration)
*
CM tool integration support for IBM Rational ClearCase is being deprecated.
1. Create a subfolder of the vob you are going to use. The subfolder will be used to store the Modeler model and its Packages.
Note that you need to manually create the subfolder because the check in operation cannot create a subfolder of a vob.
2. Through ClearCase, check in the subfolder you created in step 2, ensuring you keep the subfolder checked out.
*
If you do not check out the subfolder, it will have to be checked in and out each time a check in or check out operation is performed on a Package.
3. If you are using ClearCase MultiSite, you must select the 'When creating an element in a replicated VOB, make current replica the master of all newly created branches' option in ClearCase.
4. From Modeler, open the Model you want to check in.
5. Set the access permissions for the Model and its Packages as required.
For more information about using Modeler access permissions with CM tool access rights, click here Controlling access in the Modeler and CM tool environments
6. If you want to set up your CM tool's integration options, on the Modeler Tools menu, click Configuration Management Options, and then set the options as required.
We recommend that you clear the Always prompt for an activity when working in a view of a ClearCase project check box, so that you are not prompted to specify an activity for each package file that is checked in.
7. In the Packages pane, right-click the Model icon, point to Tools > Configuration Management, and then click Check In
8. Select the subfolder you created in Step 1. We recommend that you use the UNC path, that is, select the subfolder through the network neighborhood.
9. From the Check in Destination dialog, select the Check in Sub-packages
10. If you want to immediately check out the Model, select the Keep Checked Out
*
If you select the Keep Checked Out check box, the check in operation will be quicker.
11. Click OK
12. If a message about setting rights in the CM tool is displayed, click OK
13. After checking in the Model, set up the access rights to the CM tool Model and Packages. For more information, click here
