Typical lifecycle of a model stored in a CM tool (CM tool integration)
There are typically three stages for storing and working with a model stored in a CM tool (a CM tool model):
Storing a model in a CM tool the first time
Creating a replica of a CM tool model
Changing items in a CM tool model
Introduction
In more detail:
Storing a model in a CM tool the first time
Initially, a model is created in the Modeler environment. The complete model is then copied into a CM tool project through a check in operation.
Creating a replica of a CM tool model
When a user wants to work with a CM tool model for the first time, they create a read only copy of the CM tool model in their Modeler environment through a create replica operation.
Changing items in a CM tool model
When a user wants to make changes to a CM tool model, they check out the items they want to change through the owning Package or Model. After making the changes in the Modeler environment, they check in the owning Package or Model they checked out.
